The ERC ran a five day long backpacking program called EcoCamp into the Pioneer Mountains with students from The Space in Hailey. The ERC has been running EcoCamp programs for elementary and middle school students for over 20 years. The ERC has joined forces with Sun Valley Huts to provide more outdoor access to students in the valley. Campers got the opportunity to stay in the Pioneer Hut for two nights, and backpacked into the Big Basin area of the Pioneers. Campers swam in alpine lakes, learned map reading skills, used a backcountry sauna, and practiced their elk calls. Campers ended the trip with a sense of accomplishment and some new experiences in the outdoors.

Make a Wish Foundation received funds for life-changing wishes to children with critical illnesses. These wishes are designed to mitigate the emotional trauma caused by a life-threatening illness like cancer and provide much-needed hope and joy during a period of anxiety and isolation. Funds they received from 5B Kids Fund helped to grant a wish for a young child to visit Disney World upon finishing her cancer treatments. She was obsessed with princesses, especially Ana and Elsa from Frozen and hoped to meet them. Her wish came true in July 2025.

The program introduced kids to the fundamentals of fly fishing and stream ecology through hands-on learning. Participants practiced knot tying, casting, fly tying, and catch-and-release techniques, all while learning about river stewardship and conservation.

Thanks to support from the 5B Kids Fund, girls are building self-belief, overcoming challenges, and developing life skills that will serve them for years to come through the Girls on the Run program. The program begins intentionally with 3rd grade girls, equipping them early with tools to navigate the emotional challenges of adolescence. Financial support from 5B Kids Fund enabled them to have adequate girl journals in English and Spanish, every girl received a water bottle, program shirt, 5K medal and fully equipped coach bags for the Spring and Fall season. These supplies kept the program engaging, motivating and fun.

Items like applesauce, string cheese and jerky provided not just important calories, but a greater capacity for focus and learning, and a strong sense of care.
